West Kalimantan is a region of Indonesia that is rich in natural resources spread across land and waters. Management and development of natural resource potential requires mastery of related scientific fields supported by basic science. The existence of the Untan FMIPA Chemistry Study Program is expected to be a support in increasing human resources to manage natural resources so as to have an impact on improving the quality of life.
The implementation of the learning process in the Chemistry Study Program is based on the Letter of the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education Number 3494/D/T/2001, extended based on the Letter of the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education Number 2322/D/T/2004, and extended based on the Letter of the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education Number 1140/D/T/ 2008 and valid until 2012. Accreditation of the FMIPA Chemistry Study Program is a B rating issued by BAN-PT Decree Number 164/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-XVI/S/VIII/2013 valid until 2018. Furthermore, in 2018, the FMIPA Chemistry Study Program succeeded in achieving an A Accreditation rating, based on BAN-PT Decree Number 833/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/III/2018.
The Untan FMIPA Chemistry Study Program currently has Accredited status with a Superior Accreditation rating, Based on the Decree of the Independent Accreditation Institute for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) Number 015/Sk/Lamsama/Akred/S/III/2023 Concerning the Accreditation Ranking of Chemistry Study Programs in Undergraduate Programs Tanjungpura University, in Pontianak City. Accreditation Status and Study Program Accreditation Rankings are valid from March 20 2023 to March 20 2028.
