Indonesia is a developing country that is actively developing in various fields, including industry. Industry in Indonesia is quite advanced. One of the factors driving the progress of industry in Indonesia is the application of chemistry as the basis for exact science and technology used in industry. Almost every industrial sector requires chemical principles in various processes such as processing raw materials, production processes, product packaging, and waste processing.
In commemoration of the Decade of HIMKI (Chemistry Student Association) FMIPA Tanjungpura University (UNTAN), we held the 2013 National Essay Competition (LENSA) with the theme "The Role of Chemistry in the Industrial Sector". This competition is aimed at all students at universities in Indonesia.
