The Chemistry Student Association is a non-structural institution in the chemistry department of FMIPA Untan which is independent and committed to running the organization according to the Articles of Association/Bylaws (AD/ART) which have been prepared jointly at the Himki FMIPA Untan Grand Conference. Every period, the management of the Chemistry Student Association is always carried out.
Indeed, only a handful of people choose the path taken by the minority. However, by now we should be aware that studying in the classroom is not enough but we also need to be active in organizations. This was also felt by a student born in Meliau, on 25 September 1995 named Ahmad Sunanto. Ahmad is the chairman of the Chemistry Student Association for the 2016-2017 period. A student who has a hobby of playing futsal is very skilled. Not only dribbled the ball, but he succeeded in getting his friends to join together in managing Himki. Based on the Decree of the Dean of FMIPA Untan Number 3003/UN22.8/KM/2016, the management of Himki FMIPA Untan for the 2016/2017 period consists of 45 people. The following is his vision and mission in carrying out his mandate as Chair of the Chemistry Student Association (Himki).
Vision:
Making Himki a FORCE (Family, Optimistic, Religious, Creative, Educative) and active in introducing Himki to the general public
Mission:
Familial: Creating Himki and Kimia that is harmonious and full of a sense of family.
Optimistic: Confident self-confident and responsible in carrying out the mandate for the next period.
Religious: Always upholds religious values in every Himki agenda.
Creative: Making Himki a creative and innovative organization.
Educative: Increasing and developing potential in academic and non-academic fields.
Ahmad admitted that he was interested in joining campus organizations so that he would be able to socialize well with many people. Ahmad also hopes to be able to introduce Himki at the university, provincial, and national levels. One way is through IKAHIMKI. Apart from that, Ahmad also hopes that Himki can become a forum that can improve the academic and non-academic achievements of chemistry students. Of course, through work programs at Himki such as Olympic Preparation and Scientific Writing Training (PROPIL), Chemical Futsal League (LFK), Organic, etc. Not only that, the Himki management for the 2016/2017 period also added a new work program, namely Art-Cem, which focuses on music and dance.
During this management, what was the most memorable thing?
In my opinion, the most impressive thing was when I got suggestions/input from various parties, both internal management, PH, and BP, and external such as lecturers, seniors, and other chemistry residents. This of course shows that there is a sense of concern for Himki to be better in the future. Apart from that, I am personally also grateful that Himki's big event, namely the XIII Chemistry Study Competition (LBSK), was able to run smoothly thanks to the enthusiasm of the LBSK Committee and all parties who supported the success of the event.
How do you feel while serving as chairman?
There are feelings of joy and sadness. It's nice to be able to get to know some of the University's UKM. You can travel so you can expand your network. Some time ago I went to Banjarmasin for the IKAHIMKI Regional Conference. March 1-March 7 2017 also went to Bogor for the IKAHIMKI National Working Meeting. Meanwhile, there was only one thing that made me sad, namely when it was difficult to go home. But, that's okay because life is a choice and we have to learn to be responsible for something we have chosen.
How do you, as chairman, strengthen relationships with fellow HIMKI administrators?
Of course, through a personal approach to fellow Himki administrators and usually, a management gathering (KURUS) is also held to strengthen our solidarity. Apart from that, we also implement regulations such as fines or giving warning letters for those who violate AD/ART.
Can you tell us briefly what the obstacles are as chairman of HIMKI and how you overcome them?
In my opinion, there don't seem to be any significant obstacles. Maybe a common thing that happens in an organization is how we maintain communication with fellow administrators. I get around this by inviting male Himki administrators to play futsal together. For the entire board, then through a board meeting.
Who is a leader you admire?
I admire Umar Bin Khatab for being a leader.
From 1-10, what is the importance of campus organizations?
In my opinion, this organization is very important for students. I dare to give the number 8.9.
That is the figure of Ahmad Sunanto, Chair of the 2016/2017 Chemistry Student Association with his leadership principles.
Hopefully we as students can also be active in organizations both on and off campus. Achievements okay, Organization yes!
Student Life!
